One of the most pleasant settings for drinks or a quick meal in Southeast Missouri. Outstanding beer and wine selection and a view that cannot be beat. Watch the barges trek up the Mississippi and catch a train crossing the Thebes Bridge, built in 1905. Incredible place!
Gorgeous view. Wonderful Crawfish appetizer. Exceptional salad. They have a nice size wine selection. We had a very nice relaxing time. Can't wait to go again when the leaves start to change.

Note, this is NOT a winery. They are a 'Wine House', serving a nice selection of red and white wines, draft beer and craft beer. I've seen 'flights' of beer for sampling in craft breweries, however, I've not had the pleasure of a 'flight' of wine. We sampled multiple wines and found a few favorites.
Not just "A Wine Place", it's a "Great Wine Place"
Wedding anniversary reception in the pavilion was excellent. Exceptional staff and owners, with attention to detail.
Visited the Riverhouse with a small group which including our 60 lb mixed breed pup. The owner set us up in a covered corner of the porch facing the river and we were served almost immediately. Inside seating was packed out but we still received excellent service and our food and wine flights were all top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the barges and trains as they passed, but the the sky over the river as the sun set was the highlight of the evening. In just one visit The Riverhouse secured its place on our "must see" list for every trip we make into town from Atlanta.
To top it off, KaMia was our server and was a delight. She took the orders for our table of four, both for wine flights and meals, wrote nothing down and got it all right. Even more impressive was when she did it for the table of eight that was outside with us! KaMia has a great personality, was pleasant to talk to and helped us remember which sample was which in our flights . . . multiple times. The River House has a great employee in this young lady.
The menu contains multiple, down to earth selections, including pizza, sandwiches and burgers. There is a nice selection of appetizers. I believe I may have had one of the best hamburgers I've eaten, while my spouse and friends all enjoyed their food.
The restaurant is nicely done in a rustic style with large picture windows; adequate seating inside and ample seating outside. There is also a nice pavillion between the river and the restaurant that I imagine can be rented for parties or weddings.
We met friends for dinner last Friday night and were graced with weather that was pleasant enough to allow us to sit outside. There is a great view across the river to Thebes, IL, where you can see Thebes Courthouse sitting up on the bluffs. Legend has it that Abraham Lincoln may have tried a case in that same building. Looking south gives you a long view downriver, past the Thebes Railroad Bridge. We saw multiple trains cross the bride while we were eating and could see a tow working its way upriver.
